Ciril Zlobec (4 July 1925 – 24 August 2018) was a Slovene poet, writer, translator, journalist and former politician. He was best known for his poems and published several volumes of poetry.[1]

In 1990 he became a member of the Presidency of Slovenia at a critical time for Slovene independence.[2]

In the 1970s and 1980s, he was the editor of the intellectual and cultural journal Sodobnost.

Zlobec died on 24 August 2018 at the age of 93.[3]
