The coat of arms of Montenegro was adopted on 12 July 2004. It was first created by Milan Božović in 1944 and later adapted. It is a golden two-headed eagle wearing a crown. The eagle is holding a golden sceptre with a cross in one claw. It has a blue globus cruciger with a golden cross in its other claw. The eagle wears a shield with a golden lion on a blue background above a green ground.

Emblem of the Socialist Republic of Montenegro used from 1945 to 1992. A blue mountain was used from 1963–1974.
