Common mudpuppy
Common mudpuppies (Necturus maculosus) are salamanders that live in streams, rivers and ponds. They hide in vegetation on the ground. They eat snails, worms and cray fish. They lay clutches of eggs. They are carnivores. They can grow up to 13 inches (330 mm) and be as small as 8 inches (200 mm). There also one of the few salamanders that make sound the actually bark like dogs. They are also endanger from habitat loss.
