Computer and Video Games
Computer and Video Games (also known as CVG) was a UK monthly video game magazine and website. It ran from November 1981 until October 2004. After 2004, the magazine was entirely moved online to their website.[1] Their website ran from August 1999 until it was shut down on 26 February 2015.[2] The magazine was produced in London, England. The first issue, released in January 1995, spotlighted Space Invaders.[3] The last issue was in October 2004, with the main feature being a review of Need for Speed Underground 2.[4]
Before being bought out by GamesRadar, CVG used to host the Golden Joystick Awards, the longest running gaming awards. They started the awards in 1982 and it still runs today.[5]
On 16 April 2008, the magazine was revived under the name CVG Presents. It was released bi-weekly and would mainly focus on one subject. The spotlight of the first edition was on the Grand Theft Auto series.[6] No new issue has been released since 2009.
