Loss function
(Redirected from Cost function)
In mathematics a loss function or cost function is a mathematical function that maps an event, or the values of one or more variables onto a real number. This number is then given a semantic value, such as cost or utility. Optimisation can then be used to find the value where the function is minimal, or at one of its maxima.
