Danica Roem

Danica Roem (/ˈrm/ ROHM; born September 30, 1984)[1] is an American journalist and politician. She is a member of the Democratic Party.[2] In the 2017 Virginia elections she was elected to the Virginia House of Delegates.[3]

She is the first openly transgender person to be elected to the Virginia General Assembly, and in January 2018 became the first to both be elected and serve while openly transgender in any U.S. state legislature.[4]
