    Released: April 3, 2020

On April 30, 2020, Drake posted on his Instagram and confirmed the mixtape's title, album art, and the release date of the next day. He would also announce the future release of his sixth studio album release Certified Lover Boy.[2]

The album's cover art is an image of Drake wearing a balaclava while standing in the dark. The back cover art is a blurred picture of and tribute to his late-friend Anthony “Fif” Soares who was murdered at Toronto Community Housing on September 14, 2017.[3][4] The mixtape is a combination of both songs from Drake's SoundCloud and leaks of older songs.[5]

The album debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200, selling 223,000 album-equivalent units. It was the twelfth straight Top 10 album for Drake.[6] All of the songs off of the album would enter the Billboard Hot 100.[7] Dark Lane Demo Tapes would be certified 2× Platinum by the Music Canada.[8]

The album features the single "Toosie Slide" which was released on April 3, 2020.
