Deepanshi Yaduvanshi,[1] known by her stage name Roxy, is an independent music artist, live performer, and philanthropist from Lucknow, born on November 7, 1998.[2][3]

Early Life and Education

Roxy completed her graduation in music from Bhatkhande Music Institute, Lucknow, and pursued a Master's degree in Performing Arts from Nehru Gram Bharti, Prayagraj. Currently, she is dedicatedly working towards her Ph.D. in Mumbai University and pursuing a Master's degree in Social Work from Sam Higginbottom Institute of Agriculture, Technology, and Sciences, Prayagraj.[4]

Career Achievements

With over six years of professional experience, Roxy has performed in over a thousand shows worldwide. She gained recognition as a finalist in Indian Idol Junior 2016 and achieved the first runner-up position in Sur Tarang in 2016 and 2017 in the junior category. Roxy emerged as the winner of Awaz-E-Awadh 2017 and Super Singer Season 10 in 2018.[5][6]

She has carved a niche for herself as an independent music artist and has undertaken significant projects. Roxy has composed songs dedicated to social causes, including a song inspired by the movie "Chhapaak," addressing the plight of acid attack victims.[5]

Musical Ventures

Roxy is the proud founder of two musical theme bands, "The Roxx Fusion Band" and "Roohaniyat - The Sufi Band." She has not only showcased her musical prowess but also created platforms for fellow artists to flourish.

Philanthropy and Social Work

Beyond the stage, Roxy is the owner of KDOMINION Group of Companies and the force behind the "AadiShakti Nari Foundation," an NGO dedicated to women empowerment. The foundation focuses on supporting victims of rape, acid attacks, and promoting girl child education. It has provided employment opportunities to over a thousand women in Uttar Pradesh in handcrafted decoratives and silk thread productions.
