Department Q is a series of Danish crime thriller movies based on the books by Jussi Adler-Olsen. The series follows detective Carl Mørck and his assistant Assad as they investigate cold cases in Copenhagen.
Overview
The first movie, The Keeper of Lost Causes (original title: Kvinden i buret), was released in 2013. It was followed by three more films: The Absent One (2014), A Conspiracy of Faith (2016), and The Purity of Vengeance (2018). In each case, Carl and Assad solve dark and complex crimes involving political secrets and personal tragedies.
A new adaptation of the series started production in 2023, produced by Zentropa, with different actors and a new tone.
