Ecclesiastical province

An ecclesiastical province is a group of dioceses in some Christian denominations. It has one main diocese, called an archdiocese, led by a metropolitan bishop or archbishop. This bishop has some authority over the other bishops in the province.[1][2]

The Catholic Church, Orthodox Churches, and Anglican Church all have ecclesiastical provinces. Each is led by a metropolitan archbishop.
