Enthalpy of atomization

The enthalpy of atomization is the heat change that resulted to the separation or disintegration of all atoms in a chemical substance.[1]

ΔatH or ΔHat., means "Enthalpy of atomization".

Atomization means to break bonds in a substance, so that the atoms in the substance, go into the gas phase.
