A eulogy (from Ancient Greek: εὐλογίαcode: grc is deprecated , eulogia, meaning "praise") is a speech or writing in praise of a person or thing. It is often given about a recently dead or retired person.^[1]^[2]^[3] Eulogies may be given as part of funeral services.
