中文：杜威南通之行的影像，目前只有一张合影留存。拍摄的具体时间和地点不详，合影人物从左往右为：白美华、杜威女儿（大）、张謇夫人吴道愔、杜威女儿、杜威夫人、张孝若、杜威、高诚身、张謇、张詧、何尚平、李敏孚。吴道愔以持家为主，她的出现有点让人意外。在张謇家庭合影中，吴道愔经常出现，但在张謇接待客人，特别是外国客人合影时，似乎是唯一的一次。合影中的张詧是张謇的三哥，也是张謇从事各项事业的重要合作者；李敏孚时任英化职业学校主任，之前担任金陵大学化学教员，为留美学者；何尚平当时协助张謇从事垦植事业，曾留学比利时。 这张合影不久刊登在6月16日《申报》的第7版上，标题为《张南通欢迎杜威氏摄影》。美国基督会的《世界召唤》杂志（World Call）1920年12月刊登了《高诚身的两封来信》（Two Letters from Frank Garrett）,文中配有两张照片，其中一张就是这张合影。有意思的是，6月14日的《时报》第5版登载了题为《张謇与杜威》的照片，细细观察，其实是把这张大合影里的张謇和杜威两个人的人像单独裁剪出来。这个“双人照”还出现在7月3日《密勒氏评论报》（MILLARD'S REVIEW）刊登的《杜威在中国》（John Dewey in China）文章之中。 |
