English: The “About VirtualBox” image contained in the Open Source Edition of VirtualBox 1.5.6 OSE shows the following:
Deutsch: Das Bild „About VirtualBox“, das in der Open Source Edition von VirtualBox 1.5.6 OSE enthalten ist, zeigt:
  • Ein Chamäleon, das sich auf SUSE Linux bezieht, einen roten Hut trägt, der sich auf Red Hat Enterprise Linux und Fedora Linux (formal gesehen nur auf Red Hat Linux) bezieht, und sich an einer “VirtualBox” festhält.
  • Der Pinguin ähnelt Tux, dem Maskottchen des Linux-Kernels. Sein Tamburin trägt das Logo von Ubuntu. Sein linker Fuß ähnelt dem GNOME-Logo.
  • Der Schmetterling entspricht dem MSN-Butterfly-Logo, er stellt die Betriebssysteme der Microsoft Windows-Familie dar.
  • Die Sterne stehen für das Mandriva-Logo.
  • Beastie ist der BSD-Daemon, er hält einen Apfel, der wie das Apple-Logo aussieht, ein Verweis auf das Erbe von Mac OS X. Sein Schwanz steht für das Debian-Logo.

Source The source tarball contains the file /src/VBox/Frontends/VirtualBox/images/OSE/about.png, part of at least VirtualBox-1.5.6-1_OSE.tar.bz2 (the first open sourced version was 1.3.2) up to VirtualBox-4.3.40.tar.bz2. Old versions may no longer be available from the official site.
