English: The map above shows the prevalence of American Jews in each state of the United States and in the District of Columbia. Data comes from the U.S. Census Bureau's 2020 Vintage Population Estimates, which can be found here, and the American Jewish Yearbook, 2020, and data from that yearbook is easily accessible at the Jewish Virtual Library.
In 2020, there were an estimated 7,153,065 Jews in the United States, making up approximately 2.17% of the country's 329.5 million inhabitants. The five states with the most American Jews were New York (1,772,470), California (1,187,990), Florida (657,095), New Jersey (546,950), and Pennsylvania (434,165). The five states with the highest concentration of American Jews were New York (9.17%), New Jersey (6.16%), Massachusetts (4.25%), Maryland (3.94%), and Pennsylvania (3.40%). The District of Columbia has a higher proportion of Jews than every state but one (New York) in the country, though, with 8.04% of its population identifying as Jewish.
