Summary
| Description |
English: Thompson L1 2-6-4T at Beccles on the Lowestoft portion of an express from London. View southward, towards Ipswich and London: ex-GER East Suffolk main line: a mid-winter scene with snow lying around. To sample the Diesels just introduced, a friend and I travelled down on the 08.30 Liverpool Street - Yarmouth/Lowestoft. This was hauled by Type 2 Diesel No. D5500 to Ipswich, where B17 4-6-0 No. 61622 took over to Yarmouth (South Town). We stopped off at Beccles and photographed L1 No. 67738 here, which was attached to the Lowestoft coaches. It was built 11/48 and withdrawn 7/61. |
