Summary
DescriptionBone pendant decorated with an engraved drawing of a wolverineDSCF6967.jpg |
English: Bone pendant decorated with an engraved drawing of a wolverine, Late Magdalenian, around 12,500 years old. Les Eyzies, Dordogne, France. May come from the cave called "grotte des Eyzies" (cave of les Eyzies), which is the cave also called "grotte Richard". This object is part of the collections of the British museum, n° 102 in Ann Sieveking's catalogue. See Alain Roussot, Le Périgord et l'art paléolithique au British Muséum. A propos du Catalogue d'Ann Sieveking [trad. : "The Perigord region and palaeolithic art at the British museum. About the catalogue by Ann Sieveking"], Bulletin de la Société historique et archéologique du Périgord, t. 115, 1988, p. 289-313, picture and legend of this artefact p. 293, fig. 1 : drawing by Alain Roussot from photos. The detailed commentary about this figure is in p. 291.
