For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme. Der deutsche Dampfer "Monte Cervantes" untergegangen! Das deutsche Motorschiff "Monte Cervantes" der Hamburg Süd-Amerikanischen Dampfschifffahrtsgesellschaft, das vor 2 Jahren bei Spitzbergen von dem russischen Eisbrecher "Krassin" aus schwerer Seenot gerettet werden mußte, ist an der Südspitze von Amerika, in der Magellanstrasse auf Grund gelaufen und untergegangen. Die Passagiere und Besatzung konnten sämtlich geborgen werden. |
