| Description |
English: The photo shows the building of the German National Bank (Reichsbank) constructed in 1891. The street name "Werderstraße" used as title by German Federal Archive is wrong. The building was located on the south side of Jägerstraße 34-38, next street south of Werderstraße. 1934/1940 an additional building extended Reichsbank to Werderstraße, which might have caused the error.
Deutsch: Das Foto zeigt das Gebäude der Reichsbank von 1891. Der Straßenname "Werderstraße" im Titel des Bundesarchivs ist falsch. Das Gebäude befand sich an der Südseite der Jägerstraße 34-38, die nächste Parallelstraße südlich der Werderstraße. 1934/1940 wurde ein Erweiterungsbau der Reichsbank zwischen Jägerstraße und Werderstraße errichtet, was wohl den Fehler verursacht hat. Die angrenzenden Querstraßen Kurstraße und Oberwallstraße treffen zu. |
