Deutsch: Im Jahr 2005 vereinigten sich die fünf Gemeinden Arosio, Breno, Fescoggia, Mugena und Vezio unter dem neuen Namen Alto Malcantone.
Das neue Wappen zeigt ein schlichtes Kastanienblatt und besticht durch seine Klarheit. Das Baumblatt der Edelkastanie (castanea sativa) verweist auf die typische Bewaldung im Tessin. Dieser wohl seit dem Altertum heimische Kulturbaum gab verschiedenen Ortschaften den Namen und ist damit dort auch das dominierende Wappenmotiv. Alto Malcantone ist jedoch die erste Tessiner Gemeinde, die "nur" das Blatt und nicht den ganzen Baum oder einen Zweig mit mehreren Blättern und Früchten im Wappen führt. |
