It is the regional center of the CALABARZON region. It is situated 54 kilometres (34 mi) south of Manila, with numerous hot spring resorts, most of which are located in Barangay Pansol and Barangay Bucal. According to the latest census, the city has a population of 389,377, making it the largest local government unit in Laguna.
