English: Circa 1879 Woodblock-print advertisement for an American production of H.M.S. Pinafore, housed at the Library of Congress. The Library of Congress site says that they are D'Oyly Carte Opera Company productions (see here), but that seems dubious, since Carte's name does not appear on the poster, and he would have been eager to distinguish his production (December 1879) from the many unauthorised productions
