English: Coastal vegetation zones at St Malo. At top, grassland with gorse bushes; then bare rock with lichen, first the pale orange Caloplaca marina, then (in the upper littoral zone) the black Hydropunctaria (Verrucaria) maura. Below that a zone of green algae, and finally dark "brown" algae. |
