| Description |
English: Courage Brewery, Horseleydown This view across the Thames just downstream of Tower Bridge has changed out of all recognition since this photograph was taken in 1971. At the left is Butler's Wharf, then centrally we see the Courage Brewery with its stylish chimney. At the extreme right is a fraction of the southern end of Tower Bridge. In Victorian times, this area of the south bank was known as Horseleydown, so I have used this in the title. In modern parlance, it is a part of Bermondsey. |
