Deutsch: Das Wappen bezieht sich auf ein Ortszeichen, das Aitrang unter der Regierung des Kemptener Fürstabts Sebastian von Breitenstein (1522 bis 1535) verliehen wurde. Aitrang war Reichsvogtei des Klosters St. Mang, das seit 1218 hier begütert war und seit 1227 die Niedergerichtsbarkeit innehatte. König Friedrich II. stellte 1218 das Kloster St. Mang unter den Schutz des Reichs. Die Reichsvogtei wurde mehrmals verpfändet. Das Fürststift Kempten erwarb sie 1524. Daran erinnert in der vorderen Schildhälfte das Stiftswappen, die Teilung von Rot und Blau. Der Abtstab weist auf den Fürstabt Sebastian von Breitenstein (1522 bis 1535) hin. Die Bogenfelgen sind seinem Wappen entnommen. |
