Deutsch: Das Wappen wurde am 7. August 1957 vom bayrischen Innenminister verliehen. Es zeigt vorn das Wappen der Marschalken von Kunstadt, die 1203 erstmals erwähnt werden und 1728 ausgestorben sind. Kelch und Abtstab stammen aus dem Wappen des Zisterzienserklosters Langheim, das von 1336 bis zur Säkularisation im Gemeindegebiet reich begütert war und das Patronatsrecht in Altenkunstadt inne hatte.
English: The arms were officially granted on August 7, 1957. The are derived from the arms of the Marschalks of Kunstadt (ahead) and the rear symbolises the monastery of Langheim. |
