Deutsch: Aus der Zeit vor 1912 ist kein Wappen von Epfendorf bekannt. Anlässlich der Bemühungen seitens der Gemeinde um ein heraldisch richtiges Gemeindewappen wählte man die goldene Herzogskrone in rotem Schild in Erinnerung daran, dass die Herzogin Hadwig (gestorben 994), die auf dem Hohentwiel residierte, in Epfendorf Besitz hatte. Stempel des Bürgermeisters aus den Jahren 1930 und 1938 zeigen indes einen laubbekränzten Schild mit dem z-förmigen Ortszeichen Epfendorfs, von den Buchstaben E und D begleitet. Diese Stempel wurden bis 1952 benutzt. Im selben Jahr kam die Gemeinde jedoch auf den Vorschlag von 1912 zurück. Am 12. September 1955 verlieh das Innenministerium das Recht zur Führung des beschriebenen Wappens, am 20. Juni 1961 die Flagge. Die Eingemeindung von Trichtingen mit Harthausen am 1. Januar 1975 zog keine Veränderung des Wappens nach sich. |
