Deutsch: Die Gemeinde, die als Körperschaft mit Vogt und Gericht mindestens seit dem 14. Jahrhundert fassbar ist, führte bis zu Beginn des 19. Jahrhunderts keine Siegel. Ab 1818 ist der Gebrauch von Gemeindesiegeln mit einem Pflug als Siegelbild nachzuweisen. Das Motiv dürfte in Zusammenhang mit älteren und gleichzeitigen Siegeln der Horbener Vögte stehen, die sämtlich Pflugscharen, zum Teil mit den Initialen des Siegelführers, aufweisen. Der Pflug blieb auf Wunsch der Gemeinde auch das Bild des 1899 in Zeichnung und Tingierung vom Generallandesarchiv festgelegten Wappens. Für die heute noch stark landwirtschaftlich geprägte, auf einem Bergrücken am Fuß des Schauinslands gelegene Gemeinde besitzt das Wappen weiterhin aktuelle Aussagekraft.
