Object history
Deutsch: Das Gemeindegebiet von Jengen gehörte zum Hochstift Augsburg. Daran erinnert die Spaltung von Silber und Rot aus dem alten Hochstiftswappen. Wichtige Grundherren im Gemeindegebiet waren das Spital und das Franziskanerinnenkloster der Reichsstadt Kaufbeuren sowie das Kloster Steingaden. Dargestellt werden diese historischen Beziehungen durch den halben Adler aus dem Wappen der Stadt Kaufbeuren und den Greifenlöwen aus dem Wappen des Klosters Steingaden.
