Deutsch: Im Zuge der Gebietsreform entstand aus dem früheren Markt Jettingen und der Gemeinde Scheppach der Markt Jettingen-Scheppach. Das neue Gemeindewappen enthält Elemente aus den beiden, in diesem Zusammenhang untergegangenen Wappen von Jettingen und Scheppach. Die Adlerfüße stammen von dem Wappen von Scheppach aus dem Jahr 1968. Sie sind dem Wappen des ehemaligen Ortsadels, der Herren von Scheppach, entnommen, die im 12. und 13. Jahrhundert nachweisbar sind. Die Wolfsangeln weisen auf das Wappen von Jettingen aus dem 17. Jahrhundert. Sie sind dem Wappen der Freiherren vom Stain entnommen, die seit 1469 die Ortsherrschaft in Jettingen innehatten. |
