Deutsch: Die Marktgemeinde führt das Wappen der Familie von Massbach, dem Ortsadelgeschlecht, das die Ortsherrschaft innehatte und 1637 ausgestorben ist. Ihr Stammwappen ist durch Siegelabdrucke seit dem 14. Jahrhundert belegt. Die Gemeinde führte das Wappen seit dem späten 19. Jahrhundert im Siegel, auch im Schrifttum des 19. Jahrhunderts erscheint es als Ortswappen, allerdings ohne Angabe von Farben. Die silbernen Flächen sind hier mit Quaderwerk ausgefüllt. Die Gemeinde stellte 1937 einen Antrag auf Verleihung des Wappens, der wegen Kreisausbruch nicht weiter verhandelt wurde. Sie erfolgte erst nach Kriegsende 1949.
