Deutsch: Die Gemeinde gehörte wie die am 1. Januar 1973 eingemeindeten Orte Hänner, Niederhof und Oberhof zur Einung Murg in der Grafschaft Hauenstein, bevor sie 1805 zu Baden kam. Murg führte im 19. Jahrhundert als Siegelbild wie viele Landgemeinden im bekrönten Schild Garbe, Sense und Rechen. Das Generallandesarchiv schlug daher im Jahre 1903 für das neue Wappen einen Rechen und eine Sichel in „natürlichen" Farben in blauem Schild vor. Die Gemeinde wollte jedoch die bedeutende ortsansässige Industrie im Wappen dargestellt wissen. Bereits im Mittelalter gab es hier Hammerwerke, die Industrialisierung begann in der Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts. In dem 1903 angenommenen Wappen bezieht sich die Tanne auf die ehemalige Zugehörigkeit zur Grafschaft Hauenstein, das Zahnrad symbolisiert die Industrie. |
