Deutsch: Das Haupt Johannes des Täufers auf der Schüssel verweist auf den Patron der Pfarrkirche von Nandlstadt. Die Siegelführung des Marktes ist erstmals für 1374 belegt. Die Marktrechte wurden 1386 bestätigt. Die Detailgestaltung des Johanneshaupts und der Schüssel wechselte häufig. Die heutige Form orientiert sich an Hupps Darstellung, der sich in der Tingierung auf Vorbilder des 16. Jahrhunderts stützte. Abweichend vom Johannes-Wappen zeigt Wenings Kupferstich von 1723 ein Phantasiewappen (geteilt, oben ein wachsender Wolf). Der Entwurf für ein neues Wappen von 1812 (geteilt von Silber und Blau mit grünem Eichenkranz) kam nicht zur Ausführung. 1836 erhielt der Markt Nandlstadt die Genehmigung, trotz der kommunalrechtlichen Rückstufung zur Landgemeinde das alte Wappen mit dem Johanneshaupt zu führen. |
