| Object history |
Deutsch: Das Wasserrad über dem Wellenschildfuß erinnert an die große Bedeutung der Wasserkraft in der Wirtschaftsgeschichte der Gemeinde. Mit Wasserkraft wurden Sägemühlen und Gipsstampfen betrieben. Vor allem im 18. und 19. Jahrhundert erlangten die Oberauer Gipsbrüche nordöstlich der Loisach überörtliche Bedeutung; Hauptabsatzgebiet war die Landeshauptstadt München. Die Tingierung in Silber und Blau erinnert an die engen Beziehungen der Gemeinde zu dem vom wittelsbachischen Kaiser Ludwig dem Bayern gegründeten Kloster Ettal und gibt zugleich die bayerischen Landesfarben wieder. |
