Object history
Deutsch: Im Wappen sind Symbole zweier wichtiger Herrschaftsträger enthalten: Das Hirschgeweih ist das Wappen der Herren von Kaltental. Die Herrschaft Osterzell war eine freiadlige Reichsritterschaft und bestand aus den Orten Osterzell, Hirschzell und Tremmelschwang. Sie war Teil der Herrschaft Kemnat, die der königliche Rat Jakob von Kaltental zu Mühlhausen am Neckar 1535 von der Familie von Bentzenau erwarb. 1699 kam sie in den Besitz des Klosters Rottenbuch, bei dem sie bis zur Säkularisation 1803 blieb. Aus dem Klosterwappen stammt das Buchenblatt, das redend für den Klosternamen steht.
