Deutsch: Sasbach gehörte bis zur Säkularisation 1803 zum Hochstift Straßburg und war Sitz eines vier Orte umfassenden Gerichts, das früh Siegel führte. Schon der älteste Abdruck (1436) zeigt einen gespaltenen Schild, in dessen vorderem Feld einen Krummstab, hinten einen Schrägbalken: das Würde-zeichen des Bischofs und das Wappen des Straßburger Bistums (in Rot ein silberner Schrägbalken). Auch nach der Auflösung des Gerichtsverbandes in badischer Zeit behielt Sasbach dieses Siegelbild bei. Bei der Neuzeichnung des Wappens durch das Generallandesarchiv 1901 wurde der Schrägbalken irrtümlich als das badische Wappen gedeutet. Am 6. September 1966 verlieh das Innenministerium die Flagge. Das am 1. Januar 1973 eingemeindete Obersasbach gehörte zum einstigen Gerichtsverband Sasbach. |
