Deutsch: Steinach führte seit 1680 in den Fleckensiegeln einen Wappenschild mit einem Fisch über drei Steinbrocken (1:2) als „redenden" Motiven für den Ortsnamen, der steiniges Wasser bedeutet. 1905 wurde daraus nach Festlegung der Farben und Änderung der Zeichnung das folgende Wappen: In Gold drei rote Ziegelsteine (1:2), überhöht von einem blauen Fisch. Nach der Eingemeindung von Welschensteinach am 1. Februar 1972 wurde dessen Wappenbild in das Wappen aufgenommen. Das Welschensteinacher Wappen, in Rot eine gestürzte goldene Pflugschar, war 1904 in Anlehnung an die Siegelbilder des 19. Jahrhunderts geschaffen worden. Neu sind nun das Wellenschildhaupt und die wieder in natürlicher Form gezeichneten Steine. Das Wappen wurde am 13. März 1975 vom Innenministerium verliehen. Die Flagge war bereits am 29. August 1967 vom Innenministerium verliehen worden. |
