Deutsch: Thurnau war Sitz der Förtsch, einem Ministerialengeschlecht der Herzöge von Andechs-Meranien, die sich 1239 erstmals nach dem Ort nannten. 1288 und 1292 trugen die Förtsch ihren gesamten Besitz dem Bischof von Bamberg zu Lehen auf. Sie erhielten den Turm von Thurnau als Mannlehen. Er blieb in ihrem Besitz bis zu ihrem Aussterben 1551. Ihre Rechtsnachfolger waren Georg von Giech und Hans Georg von Künsberg. Aus dieser Zeit stammt auch das älteste Siegel mit der Umschrift SIGILLVM OPPIDI THVRNAVIAE. Das Bild zeigt den Burgturm, belegt mit den Schilden der Familie Giech (Schafscheren) und der Künsberg (silberne Spitzen in Blau). Als die Herren von Künsberg 1731 als Mitbesitzer ausschieden, stand im Siegel aus dem gleichen Jahr das gemehrte Wappen der Herren von Giech. Im 19. Jahrhundert ist der Schild geviert; Feld eins ist golden, Feld zwei und drei rot, Feld vier blau. In den Feldern eins und vier steht eine aufrechte silberne Schafschere, in zwei und drei ein silberner Schwan. Der Turm steht auf einem Dreiberg. |
