Deutsch: Der geteilte Schild enthält in seiner oberen Hälfte das Wappen der Herren von Emerkingen, zu deren Herrschaft Unterwachingen im 13. Jahrhundert gehörte, bis es, zunächst pfand-, dann kaufweise, an das Kloster Obermarchtal überging. Schlüssel und Schwert in der unteren Schildhälfte sind Wappenfiguren dieses Klosters und erinnern im Gemeindewappen an dessen bis 1803 währende Herrschaft über den Ort. Wappen und Flagge wurden vom Landratsamt Alb-Donau-Kreis am 9. Juli 1987 verliehen. |
