Deutsch: In gespaltenem Schild vorn in Gold ein linksgewendeter blaugekleideter Mann, den Hut an einer über die Schulter gelegten Schnur auf dem Rücken, die Rechte an der Hutschnur, in der Linken einen blauen Knotenstock; hinten in Blau auf einer steigenden goldenen Mondsichel stehend die golden gekleidete, gekrönte und nimbierte Madonna, auf der Linken das golden gekleidete und nimbierte Kind.
Deutsch: Die Stadt wurde am 1. Januar 1975 durch Vereinigung von Waldshut, Tiengen und Gurtweil gebildet. Zuvor waren acht weitere Orte eingemeindet worden. Im Wappen sind die traditionsreichen Symbole beider Städte vertreten. Seit Ende des 13. Jahrhunderts sind das „Waldshuter Männle", als Waldhüter gedeutet und damit „redend", im Stadtwappen Waldshuts und die thronende Madonna im Siegel Tiengens nachweisbar. Tingierung und Zeichnung dieser Wappenfiguren wurden für das am 2. November 1981 vom Regierungspräsidium Freiburg verliehene Wappen teilweise geändert.
