Description Lot-9437-6: Mother to 465 Boys. Four hundred and sixty five American fliers call Dr. Margaret Chung, a San Francisco surgeon and physician “Mom.” It all started in 1931 when three Americans asked her to help them get into the Chinese Air Force. Now, she has 465 protégés, most of them flying in the Pacific. Each carries a good luck jade piece she gave him, each keeps in touch with her wherever he is, dines with her when he gets into San Francisco, circa February 1942.
