| Description |
English: The patron of scribes and deity of wisdom, Thoth was associated with the sun and the moon, traditionally the "eyes" of the celestial-gods Ra and Horus. The baboon, identified with Thoth, here holds a sacred Wedjat right eye, the so-called Eye of Ra, which symbolizes legitimate kingship, the structured universe, and life.
