Español: Escudo de Salamanca, Chile: el escudo de la familia de Salamanca se compone de campo mantelado (lo que divide en tres parte) , el primero y el segundo de plata , cargado de un león rapante ( en una actitud de atacar ) de azur. El tercero mantel de sinople (verde) con una lis de oro. En el escudo de la familia de Bulnes consiste en campo de gules (rojo) con un castillo de plata... se prefirió - por su antigüedad e importancia de la ciudad - dejar de fondo las armas de Salamanca de la creación de la ciudad (que en definitiva determino el tamaño del escudo) y sobre el , en su corazón o abismo , como lo llama la heráldica , se abrocharía el escudo de Bulnes reduciendo su tamaño a un escusón (escudo pequeño) [1]
