Reverend Bolivar Flores (birth name Bolívar Flores Cruz, born in March, 6 1990) is a Dominican-American pastor and community leader. After immigrating to the U.S. in 2001, he founded “El Ministerio El Sol Sale Para Todos Internacional” and serves as Vice President of the New Jersey Coalition of Pastors and Ministers. He also works at New Jersey Reentry Corporation, helping those transitioning from incarceration, hosts a radio show on social justice and is an author and lecturer on addiction and human rights.

Biography

Reverend Bolivar Flores was born in Moca, Dominican Republic, to his parents Leocadia Salcedo and Pedro Flores. He began his studies at Paso de Moca. At age 12, he demonstrated his leadership capabilities, working with the principal of the school to manage a pavilion with two classrooms. He graduated in 2000 with honors.

In 2001, he immigrated to the United States and continued his studies. He graduated from New York Theological Seminary. After graduation, he continued his mission as an Evangelical pastor and founded “El Ministerio El Sol Sale Para Todos Internacional” in 2016. In his ministry work, he has helped thousands and thousands of people from the United States, the Dominican Republic, and Peru. His hard work led him to become Vice President of the New Jersey Coalition of Pastors and Ministers and Chief of Chaplains in the city of West New York. Additionally, he is the Chief of Staff of New Jersey Reentry Corporation (NJRC), a non-profit organization dedicated to aiding individuals returning from incarceration. In NJRC, he has helped more than 17,000 program participants.

In 2018, Rev. Bolivar Flores established an agreement with the Coalition of Latin American Consuls New York (CLACNY) that said CLACNY would assist in identification procurement for immigrants from 17 different countries returning from incarceration. Reverend Flores also serves on the board of several universities, hospitals, and the New Jersey Latino Law Enforcement. He also chairs La Magia de Las Bellas Artes, a cultural social welfare organization, and provides spiritual advice for great public servants. Besides serving on several boards, Reverend Flores is also a member of the Wealth Disparity Taskforce on Criminal Justice. Reverend Flores was also chosen by the Supreme Court to choose two of the upcoming Federal Judges of the United States of America.

In 2023, he launched his radio show Open Conversation with Reverend Flores every Friday from 6 PM at 97.5 FM, where he speaks about social justice, community engagement, and education. Rev. Flores also wrote a book entitled “Hispanic Religious Leaders and Civic Engagement.” He is currently taking classes at Harvard University. He is also a member of the New Jersey Religious Leaders.

In his leisure time, Rev. Flores writes for different local newspapers about addiction as a lecturer on Opioids and Fentanyl, Human Rights & Social Justice.
