| Description |
English: “An older woman, possibly a widow, teaches young girls how to cut and gather large tree branches for firewood on August 8, 2012. Each bundle is sold weekly for 200 Naira ($1), and serves as their only source of personal income. Female education is still unattainable for many young girls living in rural villages, where early marriage is common. Researchers came across this impromteau school while taking an inventory of nomadic settles for polio campaigns in Kanoma ward, Zamfara state, Nigeria.” |
