English: This is a newspaper article from the December 28, 1864 edition of the Janesville Daily Gazette, a Wisconsin newspaper. It shows the Union point of view of the result of Stoneman's December 1864 raid that occurred during the American Civil War. The raid affected salt and lead mines, and railroad infrastructure. The excursion had several small battles, with the largest fight occurring near Marion, Virginia. |
