English: Japanese gateway in spring, Kew Gardens. The red flowers are azaleas. In this Japanese garden the gravel represents water, the rocks represent mountains. The gateway built in 1910 is a replica of one built in the 16th century in Kyoto, see Kew Gardens website http://www.kew.org/heritage/places/chokushimon.html.
