One of twenty-five woodcuts in 'Peregrinationes in Terram Sanctam' (Travels to the Holy Land). This print represents the Holy Land with the focal point of the pilgrimage, the city of Jerusalem, in the centre. The bird's eye viewpoint is shown from the sea and is remarkable in its scope, covering a swathe of the eastern Mediterranean with the northern city of Damascus on the left, and the southern city of Alexandria on the far right.
