Summary

Description

Orchis morio (Green-winged Orchid) Specimen in Derby Museum herbarium. This specimen was collected by 1857 by Joseph Whittaker, an important Derbyshire botanist who lived at Breadsall near Derby. You would not be able to find it growing there today. Note how the entire plant was uprooted - something we would not condone today. Ref No 288-1894
