Ovibos moschatus Blainville, 1816 - fossil musk ox skull from Siberia, Russia. (public display, Yakutsk Public Unified Museum of History & Northern Folk Culture, Yakutsk, Siberia, Russia) This is a partial skull of a prehistoric specimen of the Arctic musk ox, Ovibos moschatus. The species is still alive today, living at high latitudes in North America. During the Pleistocene Ice Age, the species also occurred at high latitudes in northern Asia.
